Moving Dirt and Cactus we will go……..

Building a house pad for a custom home for a wonderful builder and his customer. The customer wanted to save as much of the native cactus as possible. While we started removing the brush from the lot with the excavator, we created a couple of “cactus gardens” out of the way of construction. The customer can then use them in any future landscaping around the house once construction is finished.

There was so many barrel cactus, ocotillos, hedgehog cactus and other types of cactus that Mark and Devon created three cactus gardens. Above is a picture of one of the gardens.

Once the brush and cactus were removed from the house pad area, they cut in the driveway to the lot. This gave the trucks access to imported clean fill material needed to have a level and raised house pad. The house pad is approximately 110 feet x 83 feet.

While creating the house pad, the neighbor “inspectors” stopped by. The two bucks watched us work for about an hour while they munched on the grass around the job site.

Until next time,

Hugs,

Kathleen
